Client is seeking a Senior Developer - Big Data to add to their existing team. They have an outstanding company culture with competitive compensation and benefits.

Requirements:

Work in an organized team oriented environment to design and implement engineering initiatives relating to our Big Data strategy.
Work with product management and executive stakeholders to take detailed requirements and implement them using Agile Test Driven techniques
Create optimized workflows using relevant technologies (i.e. Storm, Kafka, Oozie, Hadoop)
Perform experiments and analyze results to improve the performance and quality of algorithms
Qualifications:

Must be living in the Austin, TX, area or willing to immediately relocate
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
5+ years of professional software development with one or more of the programming languages: Scala, Python, R, Java, Ruby, Scala, Pig, SQL
3+ years of professional software development experience with big data technologies including: MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Hadoop, Kafka, Impala
Strong experience with one or more of the following: statistical analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, predictive modeling
Domain experience in several of the following:
Designing/developing large scale web analytics
Designing/developing scalable analytics for online advertising
Multi-variate testing for SEO or online advertising
Advertising advanced analytics for click prediction, acquisition prediction, fraud detection
RTB and other real-time online ad tech
Delivering data systems that demonstrably impact corporate bottom line
Developing large scale / low latency scoring systems
Developing extensible mining model deployment infrastructure
Mining model management / measurement
Data modeling and logical modeling large scale / high impact data warehouses
Dimensional Modeling
Distributed Data Warehouses / Column Stores (e.g. Greenplum, AsterData, RedShift, Vertica, ParAccel)
Exceptional technical leadership skills
Ability to easily interact with a variety of people and grade levels both internally and externally
Strong work ethic
Desirable:

Master’s Degree
MySQL or similar DB design/implementation experience with large number of records (one billion+)
Experience with information retrieval, network programming and/or developing large software systems
Experience in building distributed applications using frameworks such as MapReduce / Spark / Storm / Yarn
Experience with cloud delivery platforms, ideally Amazon
Experience with machine learning algorithms
Experience doing Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI) and test automation.
Experience with agile development processes
Open source software contributions
Track record of success in a start-up or high-growth environment
