How will you contribute? Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Senior Technical Writer will perform writing, editing, and/or illustrating tasks on technical documents, such as user manuals, installation manuals, help documents, knowledge base documents, product brochures, tutorials, and packaging labels. Review documentation for organization, content, technical accuracy, and style. Ensure all illustrations are created to product specifications. Keep informed of product development activities to determine the need for revisions, corrections, and changes in previously printed materials. Responsibilities & Deliverables: As a Senior Technical Writer, your deliverables will include, but not limited to the following: Create, edit and/or review content in adherence to Finastra standards, including those for software, Web, and documentation, with the ability to navigate multiple file formats, including Web sites, compiled Help, formatted technical and marketing documentation, and training. Coordinate the completion and delivery of documentation for a product from planning to release under general supervision. Participate in the Product Development process as a member of the project team to develop an understanding of the requirements for the product. Collect, clarify, and translate technical information in order to create documentation. Accurately document software content and functionality, providing users with the information required to use the product. Produce accurate documentation that conforms to the style, format, process, and structure guidelines. Participate in peer reviews or edits. Research and make recommendations on new technologies by evaluating tools, procedures, and standards for documentation as required. Research and develop an understanding of the marketing requirements for the product, including target audience and competitive issues. Perform non-writing tasks associated with the production of documentation when necessary such as working with outside vendors and responding to special requests relating to documentation. Organize and maintain various documentation assets. Serve as liaison between the Technical Writing department and other groups within the organization. Assist team members and other groups within organization on projects. Build and maintain working relationships with project team members and co-workers to successfully complete projects and assigned tasks. Complete other projects as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years relevant work experience. Experience in technical writing for digital/FinTech software a plus. Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, or related field or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications and industry standard writing and help authoring tools. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and quality assurance focus. Effective listening skills. Ability to create effective end-user documentation using business requirements documentation and design documentation. Effective problem solving skills. Ability to work independently or within a team environment and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to evaluate new processes or plans.
