About the Job

As the Manager of Wealth Management, you will oversee UFCU’s Wealth Management teams, including Financial Advisors, the Financial Planning and Business Development team, Trust Services, and a Premier Banking Group.

Eager to build strong, long-term meaningful relationships, you effectively build partnerships with internal and external business partners. Through strong leadership, you direct and manage the daily operations of the Wealth Management team through execution of strategies which support UFCU’s vision and through integration of wealth management products and services into member-focused delivery channels.

Essential Functions of the Job

Operational Oversight

  • Develop and implement long and short-term strategies and growth plans for the department.
  • Provide day-to-day sales, service, and compliance supervision.
  • Integrate investment products into UFCU traditional delivery channels in order to increase production goals.
  • Develop and manage annual budget for the wealth management group.
  • Grow the operation through expansion of a premier banking group and specialty group providing enhanced wealth management services to specific segments of the membership.
  • Serve in a leadership role as the company’s representative for external contracts and their negotiations.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with other internal and external business partners.
  • Demonstrate UFCU leadership standards through support for our culture, values, and behavioral expectations.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, earn trust of, and successfully partner with colleagues. Appreciate and nurture strong relationships in order to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Department Leadership

  • Establish, clearly communicate, and hold teams accountable for monthly production and portfolio growth goals.
  • Provide team leadership through communication, coaching and mentoring.
  • Determine workload methods and standards, establish measures of effectiveness, evaluate and implement changes in work methods as needed.

  • Complete required regulatory Training as assigned.
  • Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, business ethics, and internal controls specific to UFCU and to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in proactively and creatively planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating potential business growth opportunities
  • Strong retail sales and service skills
  • Proven leadership skills in building collaborative relationships with partners from other business units, Select Employee Groups, and third party vendors
  • Strong verbal, written, active listening, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor his/her own staff and help them achieve goals
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of investment industry experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience
  • Current Texas Department of Insurance Life and Health License
  • FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66, and 24
  • Knowledge in all lines of investment and insurance products
  • Credit union and/or banking experience
  • Must be bondable
